Smart Energy Management with Mitsubishi Electric’s ICONICS Suite

We understand that almost all businesses operating in the UK face many energy-related challenges, whether they be as a consequence of threat of disruption to supply, uncertainty around the cost of supply, or the elephant in the room – energy inefficiencies or wastage. In this article, we will focus on how we can help you manage your energy usage with real-time data acquisition, focussing on smart energy management and the tools that can be used to monitor and analyse it.

Energy Saving & Monitoring

As a manufacturer, you will be familiar with energy-related challenges. In late 2022, Make UK reported that ‘out of control’ energy bills posed a serious threat to 60% of the businesses it polled. Figures like these restate the need for effective tools – especially those that can plot trends and identify useful interventions that conserve energy across the factory floor.

What this tells us is that no matter what the industry is that you are in, you need a better understanding of the way your site uses energy and how it can be improved during production.

Smart Energy Management

Mitsubishi Electric’s ICONICS Suite Software Platform

Mitsubishi Electric’s ICONICS Suite software solution organises critical operating information to provide information-rich, dynamic dashboards to analyse and visualise aggregate plant processes and identify targeted opportunities for energy reduction.

With the support of Mitsubishi Electric, our Application Support Engineers have extensive experience in this field. Mitsubishi Electric’s ICONICS Suite software platform has transformed operations for manufacturers, making it easier to optimise and execute energy strategies based on insights from real-time manufacturing data. This is then used to lower both cost and carbon in the manufacturing process.

Mitsubishi Electric’s work with auto manufacturer Stellantis offers a good case in point. With the support of their ICONICS Suite platform, Mitsubishi Electric allowed the business to automatically detect energy losses and produce real-time actuation and suggestions for operators.

Are you looking to cut energy use and running costs at your quarry or aggregate processing plant? Or considering cost-effective ways to drive sustainability within your operations?

The aggregates and quarrying industry is an energy-hungry process, and Mitsubishi Electric’s energy-saving solutions are designed to optimise power consumption and provide you with total visibility of your energy hotspots.

Mitsubishi Electric makes Hillhead debut with focus on targeted energy reduction for those in the aggregates industryHillhead

Mitsubishi Electric’s Automation Systems Division (Mitsubishi Electric) will be making its debut at Hillhead 2024, the UK’s largest quarrying, construction and recycling show, highlighting how the aggregates industry can cut its energy use and improve plant efficiency.

The company will showcase its ICONICS Suite and intelligent control solutions from stand PC43 at the show, which runs from June 25-27 at Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire. The stand reflects Mitsubishi Electric’s commitment to helping the sector find cost-effective ways to improve operational sustainability and efficiency through energy management strategies.

Attendees can find out more about how Mitsubishi Electric’s ICONICS Suite software solution organises critical operating information to provide information-rich, dynamic dashboards to analyse and visualise aggregate plant processes and identify targeted opportunities for energy reduction.

These solutions will be key to helping the aggregates industry identify wasted energy use and improve environmental performance, as Trever Herbert, Business Development Manager at Mitsubishi Electric explains: “The aggregates industry uses many energy-hungry processes, so inefficiency can have a significant impact on overall profitability and sustainability. Deploying the right energy management solutions can help companies maximise uptime, achieve peak efficiency and improve competitiveness.”

Smart Energy Management

“I would encourage all visitors to Hillhead 2024 to visit the Mitsubishi Electric stand and find out more about how harnessing the power of data can reduce energy consumption. Sustainable operations needn’t come at the cost of efficiency, and we will be able to demonstrate this at the exhibition.”
